Sottsass Ettore – Sensing Things

Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) was one of the most important designers of our day. He created a number of legendary design classics for Olivetti, including a scandalously bright red plastic item of 1969 that catapulted him to fame: the portable typewriter Valentine, a cheerfully subversive statement on a radically new approach to product design. In 1980, Sottsass cofounded the legendary Memphis group, who revolutionized design and turned it into a pop phenomenon.
